Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 30, 2021

SmallBusinessRadar (“SmallBusinessRadar” or “we”) values your privacy. At our website, https://smallbusinessradar.com (the “Site”), we provide a social information sharing network for business professionals. In this Privacy Policy (“Policy”), we describe how we collect, use, and disclose information that we obtain from you when you visit our Site or use our services and products for Site visitors or for vendors (“Services”).

By visiting the Site, or using any of our Services, you acknowledge that your personal information (information about an identified or identifiable individual, like your name or email address) will be handled as described in this Policy. Your use of our Site or Services, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and either our Terms and Conditions or, with respect to use by vendor personnel under the vendor's with SmallBusinessRadar, that agreement, including the sections on limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes in the Terms or applicable vendor agreement.

The Information We Collect About You

We may collect information about you directly from you and from third parties.

The type of information that we collect about you varies based on your interaction with our Site and our Services.

Your Reviews

When you post a review, you have the option to mark it “Anonymous.” If you do so, we will not display your name, company name, or job title in connection with your review, but other users viewing the review will see your role, department, industry, and the size of your company. You may update your choice at any time, but please note that third parties and other users of the Site already may have had access to your review in association with your name and that there might be cached copies and static content of the Site in those third parties' possession, including in publicly available third-party services, such as search engines. As such, complete copies of your review, linked to your name, may be viewable elsewhere on the Internet even if we make your review Anonymous when displaying it on our Site. (The same thing is true for other changes you may make to a review, as described in the “Access to Your Personal Information” section below.) Please note that you will need to exercise your choice for each review that you post.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information, including your personal information (collectively “information”) for the following purposes:

How We Share Your Information

We may share your information as follows:

We also may share your information with the following persons and for the following purposes:

Cookies and Other Tracking Mechanisms

We and our third party service providers, as well as some of the companies whose products/services are listed on our Site, use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about your use of our Site or Services. We combine this information with other personal information we collect about you to develop a more complete profile about you, to improve your experience on our Site, to assist us with advertising and marketing, and as described in this Policy.

To learn more about interest-based advertising generally, or to exercise certain choices regarding targeted, interest-based ads by some of our current ad service partners, you can visit aboutads.info/choices from each browser you use. However, the Cookie Settings link in our footer is the most effective way to manage cookies on our Site.

Third Party Analytics

We use automated devices and applications to evaluate usage of our Site. We also may use other analytic means to evaluate our Services. We use these tools to help us improve our Services, performance and user experiences. We may combine this information with other information we collect from our users. To opt out of Google Analytics, Google also allows you to install a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on on many types of browsers. However, the Cookie Settings link in our footer is the most effective way to manage cookies on our Site.

Third-Party Ad Networks

We use third parties such as ad networks to serve advertisements on our Site and on third-party websites or other media (e.g., social networking platforms). This enables us and these third parties to target advertisements to you for products and services in which you might be interested. Third-party ad network providers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (including clear GIFs and other tracking technologies) to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you. These third-party cookies and other technologies are governed by each third party's specific privacy policy, not this one. We may provide these third-party advertisers with information, including Personal Information, about you.

The best way to manage the technology that powers data collection for this purpose on our Site is to use the Cookie Settings link in our footer. However, some different options are available that have a different effect. For example, you may go to the Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA") Consumer Choice Page for information about opting out of interest-based advertising and their choices regarding having information used by DAA companies. You may also go to the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") Consumer Opt-Out Page for information about opting out of interest-based advertising and their choices regarding having information used by NAI members.

Opting out from one or more companies listed on the DAA Consumer Choice Page or the NAI Consumer Opt-Out Page will opt you out from those companies' delivery of interest-based content or ads to you, but it does not mean you will no longer receive any advertising through our Site or on other websites. You may continue to receive advertisements, for example, based on the particular website that you are viewing (i.e., contextually based ads). Also, if your browsers are configured to reject cookies when you opt out on the DAA or NAI websites, your opt out may not be effective. Additional information is available on those sites.

Note that if you replace, change, upgrade or reset your browser or device, or delete your cookies, you may need to use these opt-out tools again.

Third-Party Links

Our Site and Services may contain links to third-party websites. For example, occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our Site. These third parties have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of those linked sites, including their information practices.

User Generated Content

Our Site is a forum for users to share their experience with various products and services. To this end, we invite registered users to post reviews on our Site. Please note, however, that if you post reviews to our Site, then all of the information that you post in the review will be attributed to, depending on your privacy settings, either your Profile Information or your Demographic Profile. If you share your Profile Information, your full identity will be publicly visible from our Site unless you change this in your privacy settings. Please also note your Demographic Profile will be available to all visitors to our Site. If you post your own content on our Site or Services, your posting may become public, and we cannot prevent such information from being used in a manner that may violate this Policy, the law, or your personal privacy. You are responsible for the accuracy of any information contained in your postings.

Security of Your Personal Information

We have implemented some precautions to protect the information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Please be aware that despite our efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security.

You should take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your password, phone, and computer by, among other things, signing off after using a shared computer, choosing a robust password that nobody else knows or can easily guess, and keeping your log-in and password private. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised passwords or for any activity on your account via unauthorized password activity.

Children

The SmallBusinessRadar web site is not directed to children under 16 years old, and we do not market to or knowingly collect any personal information from a child under the age of 16.

Updates to Profile Information

You may log into your account at any time to update your profile information. Please note that copies of information that you have updated, modified or deleted may remain viewable in their original form in cached and archived pages of the Site for a period of time and may have been shared with users or other third parties prior to your update, modification, or deletion of the information. Certain third parties (such as search engines that visit our web site) might continue to publish the original versions of the information. We are unable to update, modify, or delete information that was previously shared with a third party or that has otherwise been cached or archived by a third party. The same thing is true for changes you make to the privacy settings for a review, as described in the “Your Reviews” section above.

We may send periodic promotional emails to you. You may opt-out of such communications by following the opt-out instructions contained in the e-mail. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days for us to process opt-out requests.
